244 Self-Awareness and Critical Thinking in Career Exploration and Preparation
Monday June 24, 2024 1:15pm - 2:15pm EDT
Self-awareness and critical thinking about career journey are the most important skills students can develop to prepare for the rapidly evolving world of work. Experts estimate that around 85% of the jobs that today’s learners will be doing in 2030 haven’t been invented yet. Also, it is estimated that the next generation of workers will change jobs up to 10 times between ages 18 and 24. Despite this, career exploration is still often thought of as a linear process, holding students back from developing the skills they need to adapt to the changing world of work.

This session discusses creating true Workforce Readiness by exposing students to up-to-date workforce data, authentic stories and content about real jobs, and arming them with dynamic tools to think critically about, prepare for, and build the lives they want with Pathful.

Pathful is the K-16 workforce readiness system that integrates college & career readiness, work-based learning and employability platforms, content and services in one affordable solution. Megan has been a teacher and instructional coach. She is passionate about every student finding meaningful connections to their future.

Wednesday June 26, 2024 3:30pm - 4:30pm EDT

Careers include multiple pathways to gain career field entry, from college or work-based learning options to Military or Federal Government positions, so students can evaluate their options. Once students have identified careers they are interested in pursuing, they work with their School Counselor to use these tools to plan their future.
