Dennis was inspired by his family to pursue a culinary degree at the Art Institute of Charleston. During this time, he also worked at Hall’s Chophouse in Downtown Charleston and on the Cast Iron Food Truck.  As he studied in the classroom, he was able to implement the techniques and recipe structure into his daily duties. Dennis was a 2014 honors graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Culinary Management. He was always surrounded by talented Chefs. Knowing this, he took advantage of every opportunity to learn from them about every aspect of a chef’s life, responsibilities, and food principles. Each chef helped him to polish his techniques and focus on different aspects of his culinary abilities.
In 2017, Dennis began to volunteer with the Distinguished Gentleman’s Club, a not-for-profit organization that provides mentorship for young men. His personality and culinary skills help provide insights to life, family, and the workforce. Being a part of an organization with so many talented youth and talented volunteers has also helped to sharpen his skillset.
Dennis began his teaching career in 2018. He teaches Culinary Arts at Summerville High school. Along with his colleagues, he interacts with students from ninth thru twelfth grades. During class he teaches them how to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen, how to prepare food and food safety basics. As a bonus, he gets to mentor students while also helping them with conflict resolution.
In 2020, Dennis formally started his private events business, BaconGang Adventures, LLC. He provides private chef services and small group catering. While providing his services, he travels for his clients and helps provide insights in how to brighten their event.
